Poem from the "Esther" Bible Study -Safe in His hands, Sweet Destiny!

O' God of wonders, power and might
Are You still there? or taken flight
Far from my wondering, worldly heart
That calls out only in the dark.
I don't know what I'm doing here
Crushed beneath this crown of fear
The masquerade is over now,
Whats hidden here is begging out.
Could it be true that I'm alive
To do something , I wont survive?
Are you a God who bring to life
To bid a person come and die?
Or is this death a deeper kind
That spares my flesh, but slays my mind
That steals my heart from guarded shelf
And breaks it till, I die to self
Why me? Why here? Why now? Why not
Show Your wonders, save this lot?
Why settle for this flesh and blood
This crumbling clay, this fear-drenched mud
There's Someone braver, Someone true
Someone who's been close to You
Too much at stake, I'm not the one.
What did I seek? What have I done?
Oh, Providence, Come show Your hand
Blow the ashes from the man
Deliverer, come raise Your bow
Shoot Your arrow, Scatter foe.
We praise a Ruler faithful still
We know You can; We pray You will.
You're not a God who makes mistakes
My life is YOURS, to give, to take.
If, for such a time as this,
I'm the one, do as you wish
Who knows but that I'm in this place
To prove Your Presence? Give me grace,
Destiny, don't hurry now.
But fill what's lacking I will bow
I'll hold my life not dear to me
Safe in HIS hands, Sweet Destiny
